Usernames for administrator attention

Shortcuts: WP:UAA WP:UFAA WP:UFA WP:AIVU You can see the most recently created usernames at the user creation log. No name should be reported here unless it is clearly inappropriate, in violation of the policy. Comments on reports can be made with {{UAA}}. Instructions for filing editors – please read: When you report a name here, you are asserting that the user with that name needs to be immediately blocked. Your report must explain what is problematic about the username, as not all violations of the username policy require blocks. For ordinary violations of the username policy, do not use this page. Instead, warn the user and ask them to change their name, possibly using the {{uw-username}} template. RFCN is a forum for discussing possible violations when the user has already been notified and had a chance to discuss. You should not normally move names from here to WP:RFCN; instead, notify the user and allow them to discuss with you, or simply remove the name if you believe it does not need to be blocked. Some names should not be blocked right away, but monitored to see if the user uses them abusively. These names go on the holding pen page. Please use the {{user-uaa}} instead of {{userlinks}}. Administrators: expand for instructions In most cases, you should allow the blocked user to create a new username. To do this, when you are on the block page, disable the autoblocker and uncheck "Account creation blocked", or click on "softblock" when blocking. Let the user know their username has been blocked, by placing {{uw-ublock}} or, if a blatant violation, {{uw-uhblock}} on their user page. Be sure to specify the reason for the block, using the "reason=" field of the template, and cite the specific reason in the block log as well. Take particular care with bot-reported usernames. It is up to you to determine whether the name is an actual violation, and whether the user needs to be warned or blocked. In some cases, there may be a well-defined word/name to add to User:HBC NameWatcherBot/Whitelist. If the HBC AIV helperbots do not appear to be removing blocked users, please notify the bot operators and they will take a look at the problem. They will not necessarily see comments in edit summaries, so please leave notes on their talk page(s) as appropriate. You may also wish to manually remove old entries in such a case. When declining to block a reported name, be sure to indicate your reason for declining the request in your edit summary. You can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.
