Band history

The band was formed in 1982 by Dušan Nikolić (vocal) and Riblja Čorba drummer Miroslav Milatović. Rest of the members were Dragan Deletić (guitar), Zoran Konjević (guitar) and a former Gordi member Slobodan Svrdlan (bass guitar).

The original idea was for Ratnici to record demo material with lyrics written in both English and Serbian. Songs with Serbian lyrics were not recorded due to Milatović's army obligations. As Konjević spent some time in Toronto, he suggested to take the band to Canada. After Konjević made a deal with Canadian manager Wayne Thompson, who worked with him in Toronto from 1978 until 1980, the band started working on English lyrics in order to attract Canadian and American interests. Prior to Canadian guitarist Douglas Platt replacing Deletić, band in its original lineup recorded mini LP Ratnici - Warriors with two songs sung in Serbian and two in English. Soon afterwards the band changed the name to Warriors and released self-titled album Warriors. After signing the contract with Attic Records, the band, without Milatović, went to Canada. With the new drummer Lawrence Gretsch they recorded the second self-titled album, Warriors. In 1986 the band disbaned.
