Vietnam Multimedia Corporation or Vietnam Television Corporation (VTC) is a large multimedia corporation in Vietnam. It was founded on February, 1988 by Vietnam Television with the main purpose to construct television stations. On July, 2003, VTC moved to a new owner: the Vietnam Ministry of Post and Telematics. Since then, the corporation has turned to be the main competitor of the Vietnam Television.

Channels

  • VTC1: The main FTA channel of VTC, which contained all features: entertainment, movies and sports.
  • VTC2 - V-Life: This channel used to be a movie and sport channel before VTC3 and VTC6 were released. Now VTC2 is the premium channel of 2 FTA channels VTC1 and VTC5. Contains movies, sports, news and entertainments.
  • VTC3: The sport channel.
  • VTC4: The fashion and style channel.
  • VTC5: The technology and life channel.
  • VTC6: The movie channel.
  • todayTV - VTC7: entertainment channel, associated production with IMC Corporation.
  • iTV - VTC10: interactive channel, officially air on June 1, 2008.
  • VTC11: tested animated and adolescents' programs


Only VTC1 and VTC5 are the present FTA channel. Other channels can be accessible via subscriptions by VTC Digital, the Decoder of VTC, most cable-tv providers (but except VCTV) and on its online tv site .

Programs

VTC has got exclusive copyrights of F1, Academy Award, Mr. World, AFC Champions League, AFF Cup (Tiger Cup), Copa America, Asian Cup 2007 and most notably Premiere League throughout Vietnam.

In 2006, VTC Mobile TV, one of the world's first subscription TV services for mobile phones became available using DVB-H.
