Uppal (उप्पल) is a gotra of Jats found in India and Pakistan. Jats of Uparnam (Hindi:ऊपरनाम) village were known as Uppal. The land of Tusharas was also known as 'Uparla Hind' (Hindi:ऊपरला हिन्द). [1] The area also known as Uttarapatha. Uppal gotra is also supposed to be derived from it. Uppal jats are found among Sikhs and Hindus of Punjab and Haryana.[2]

The Uppal population is 2,400 in the Patiala district. [3]
