- The manager of an Aberdeen taxi-firm who withdrew £60,000 from the local branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland only to discover that he had been overpaid by £40,000, was offered a bar supper as a reward when he took the money back. Derek Smith said that if he'd wanted a decent meal he would have kept the £40,000. The RBS subsequently arranged for a substantial donation to be made to the British Diabetic Association.
