Scott Peters (politician)

Scott Peters is a politician representing San Diego City Council District 1. He is also the first San Diego City Council President in its history.[1]

He is an attorney who has experience as deputy county counsel. In private practice, he earned a reputation as an environmentalist in a lawsuit against a local shipbuilder. In addition, he is currently a candidate for City Attorney as he will "termed out" this November. [2]

He was involved in the controversial and divisive push to remove alcohol from the city's beaches, as well as smoking from public beaches and parks. [3][4]
