The Rhaetian Stage is the final stage of the Late Triassic Period. It lasted from 203.6 ± 1.5 to 199.6 ± 0.6 million years ago. It was preceded by the Norian Stage of the Triassic Period and succeeded by the Hettangian Stage of the Jurassic Period.
Paleogeography
At this stage, Pangaea began to break-up, though the Atlantic Ocean was not yet formed.
