Prince Gustaf of Sweden and Norway, Frans Gustaf Oscar, Duke of Uppland, born June 18, 1827 at Haga Palace died September 24, 1852 in Kristiania Norway (the second son of Oscar I of Sweden and Josephine of Leuchtenberg). Prince Gustaf made a career as a composer, some of his works are still famous today, The Student Song (Studentsången) is sung every year by graduating students. From 1844 until his death in 1852, Gustaf was second-in-line to the Swedish and Norwegian thrones, during most of his father's reign.
