Location

The festival takes place at Songdo area, southern part of Incheon Metropolitan City. The site is about 45 kilometers west from downtown Seoul and currently used as parking fields for Daewoo Motor Sales. The main performing stages and facilities for convenience are set up on the dust field of the site.

History

The festival has an unfortunate memory of its predecessor, Tri-port Festival that was intended to take place at the same location in 1999. The expected line-up of Tri-port Festival included Deep Purple, Rage Against the Machine, Dream Theater, Prodigy and more. But unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to extreme weather condition. The festival has revived in 2006 with its current name, Pentaport, and is successfully being continued since then.
