Criticism

Some critics charge that Mr. Thurrott writes from an emotional position and lacks technical knowledge in the subjects he writes about (for example, not understanding that Vista's metadata search uses third-party plug-ins for unknown file formats). Bloggers Ed Bott[4] and Robert McLaws[5] have chastised Thurrott for poor journalistic integrity. Mr. Thurrott was also criticized for a price comparison between a Mac Pro and Dell Precision workstation that had different specifications. He has also been heavily criticized for his rather biased reporting and reviews towards Apple Inc., Google, and their products.[6][7][8]
