Fox Plaza is a 492-foot (150-meter) high skyscraper with 34 floors in Century City, Los Angeles, California, a local landmark. Completed in 1987, the architects behind its design were Scott Johnson, Bill Fain and William L. Pereira. Owned by Orange County-based The Irvine Company, Fox Plaza is 20th Century Fox's headquarters.
The building has been featured in at least four major motion pictures to date. Fox Plaza is the actual building used for the Nakatomi Plaza, a fictional office building that is the setting of the first Die Hard film. The apparent destruction of the building in the film was accomplished by Richard Edlund using scale model pyrotechnic effects. The plaza itself and a neighboring building (which can be seen in Die Hard) is the location for "KPPX Rebel Radio" and is the main setting for the rock and roll comedy Airheads. The building's lobby was also featured in the opening scene of the Keanu Reeves film Speed. Fox Plaza was also used as a template for one of the buildings brought down at the end of the feature film Fight Club.
Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan occupied a penthouse on the 34th floor for several years after leaving public office. This floor is now occupied by ZS Associates, a global management consulting firm.
The Fox Plaza was the last building that Pereira worked on before his death in 1985.
