Human information processor model is a method of modeling human abilities and cognitive processes in human-computer interaction. A deliberately simplified view of human cognition, called the model human processor (MHP), is used to explain and predict how a human responds to stimulus. The model human processor is composed of memories and processors. The memories are characterized by storage capacity, decay time and type of coding, and the processors by cycle time. The values of these attributes were determined by empirical studies.
