Michael Shuman (or Mikey Shoes, as he is called in some circles) is an American rock musician, best known as the current bassist for the hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA and attended Campbell Hall High School in North Hollywood, CA. Shuman also plays bass for Jubilee, which he co-fronts and co-founded, and Wires On Fire, both on Buddyhead Records.
Mikey is known for wearing very cheap looking "gas station" sunglasses at all times (even when cloudy, indoors and at night). Thus giving him the nickname Corey Hart, after the platinum-selling artist who sang "Sunglasses at Night".
Josh Homme is quoted as saying that he told Shuman "playing in Queens [of the Stone Age] is about 'performance' and 'blood'." When Shuman replied "which do you want first?", Homme knew he was the man for the job.
