• Nanyang Technological University partners Japan's Mitutoyo to set up a nanometrology centre. (CNA)
• The final report made by the Committee of Inquiry into the Nicoll Highway collapse of 2004 recommends issue of warnings to six individuals and two companies, in addition to the four already recommended for criminal prosecution. (CNA)
• Star Cruises announces an increase in capacity of 40% in November to handle the expected increase in demand, with SuperStar Gemini being based here for a four-month period. (CNA)

• Air Sahara of India flies into Singapore Changi Airport for the first time. (CNA)
• Founder and managing director of BreadTalk, George Quek, 48, was fined S$4,000 and barred from driving for 30 months for drunk driving, apprehended after he hit a police car at a roadblock in October 2004. (CNA)
• The Basel Convention ruled in Singapore's favour over allerged dumping of 1,149 tonnes of what Indonesia considered organic material and hazardous waste in July 2004, which Singapore said was harmless compost. (CNA)

• Singapore Airlines reported a 64% increase in profits to S$1.39 billion for the last fiscal year despite higher oil prices, the highest ever for the airline. (Business Times)

• Museums managed by the National Heritage Board saw over 820,000 visitors in its last fiscal year, the highest ever for the board's 12 year history. (CNA)
• S.League team Woodlands Wellington beats upstart Paya Lebar Punggol 2-0, the 10th straight lost for Paya Lebar Punggol and the worst performance for any S.League club so far. (CNA)

• The Ministry of Education announced that secondary school applicants to junior colleges can do so before their examination results are released. (CNA)
• The Agency for Science, Technology and Research has accepted the second apology by blogger Chen Jiahao after rejecting the first as "insincere", in the wake of what it alleges to be "defamatory statements" made against the organisation by Mr Chen. (CNA)
• The Land Transport Authority (Singapore) announced the building of a new headquarters at the old Kandang Kerbau Hospital site. (The Straits Times)
