Biography

Totta first earned public attention as a member of French R&B group, Mic Unity. In fall 2003, he participated in the third season of Popstars. He was a crowd favorite and a boy band called Linkup was formed with Lionel and Otis. Although their first single "Mon Étoile" was successful topping French charts, they disbanded due to poor performance of the second single[1].

In 2004, he started his solo career as Matt Pokora. His first eponymous solo album was titled after him and the second single Elle me contrôle received two NRJ Music Awards. In 2005, he was forced to change his stage name because of a lawsuit from French R&B singer Matt Houston. As a result, he changed his stage name to M. Pokora and re-released the album as M. Pokora[2].

In January 2006, his second album Player was released topping the chart. The second edition was released in March with a bonus track, "It's Alright" duetting with Ricky Martin.

His latest album MP3 was released on March 24, 2008. Numerous American producers including Timbaland and Ryan Leslie participated in this album, and 12 out of 14 songs are in English[3].
