Limon v. Kansas

Limon v. Kansas was the Kansas Supreme Court case that overturned the unequal, age-of-consent laws for homosexuals in Kansas. It was the first case to cite the U.S. Supreme Court decision Lawrence v. Texas as a precedent.

Matthew Limon was released from Kansas State Ellsworth Correctional Facility on November 3, 2005, after serving five-and-a-half years for consensual gay sex, when he was 18 and his partner was 14.
