Korea Exchange (KRX) was created through the integration of the three existing Korean spot & futures exchanges (Korea Stock Exchange, Korea Futures Exchange and KOSDAQ) under the Korea Stock & Futures Exchange Act.The securities and futures markets of former exchanges are now operated as the business divisions of the KRX: the Stock Market Division (KSE), KOSDAQ Market Division and Futures Market Division. At the end of 2005, it was ranked 15th in terms of market capitalization and 9th in terms of trading value among the member exchanges of the World Exchange Federation. The exchange has normal trading sessions from 08:00am to 03:00pm on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays declared by the Exchange in advance.[1]
