Key Food Stores Co-Op Inc. is a chain of independently owned supermarkets in lower New York State and until 2007, New Jersey. Key Food was founded in 1937 by Sam Mandel and is headquartered in Brooklyn, NY. Under the direction of its CEO Lawrence Mandel, the chain has recently introduced stores branded as Key Food Marketplace, which are larger stores located in suburban areas.
