Jean Karl Vernay (born October 31, 1987 in Villeurbanne) is a French race car driver. He is racing in the 2008 Formula Three Euroseries for the Signature-Plus team.

Karting
- 2000 : 3rd in France Cadet Championship
- 2001 : 5th in Speedy junior world Cup in Paris Bercy
- 2002 : 2nd in Monaco kart cup
- 2004 : 2nd in Belgium Championship, Formula A and 21th in world championship, Formula A
Formula
In 2005, he drove French Formula Campus and finish 1st with 6 wins and 12 podiums on 14 races.
In 2006, he finish the French Formula Renault taking the second place and best rookie with 7 podiums.
In 2007, Jean Karl is selected to take part of the Red Bull Junior Team program that offers funding and support for promising young drivers. With Tom Dillman, they're the two first french driver to take part of this program.
The same year, he race on the Formula Three Euroseries with Signature-Plus team finishing 10th. A second place was is best result in this series that year. He finish 3rd on the non-championship Ultimate Masters of Formula 3 2007 race at Zolder behind Nicolas Hülkenberg and another french driver and team mate Yann Clairay.[1]
He drove 2 rounds as race driver in the A1 Grand Prix of Nation 2006-07 season and a last round as practice session driver.
