Jajang (慈藏) (590 - 658) was a monk born in the kingdom of Silla, which occupied the entire Korean peninsula. He is credited with founding the Tongdosa temple in 646 CE, in what is now Busan, South Korea, and played a significant role in the adoption of Buddhism as the national religion of Silla.
He was born Kim Seonjong (Hangul: 김선종; Hanja: 金善宗) to a noble family.
