Ian Watmore is currently Permanent Secretary for Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.[1]
He joined the civil service following a private sector career which culminated as Accenture's UK Managing Director from 2000 to 2004.
He took over as head of the e-Government Unit, the direct successor to the Office of the e-Envoy in September 2004.[2]
He left this job in January 2006 to take over as head of the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit[3]
Ian Watmore holds a degree in mathematics and management studies from Trinity College, Cambridge.[1]
