Earl McGraw is a fictional character played by Michael Parks. He appears in several feature films by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Serving primarily as comic relief amidst all the violence and pathos of Tarantino's films, much of the character's humour is derived from his hillbilly accent and profanity laden dialogue. In Kill Bill Volume 1, he scolds his son for saying 'Goddamn' in the chapel where The Bride was found, and then goes into a profane rant himself.

Appearances

From Dusk Till Dawn

A Texas Ranger, McGraw goes to a liquor store where, unknown to him, killers Seth and Richie Gecko are hiding. Before McGraw can leave, he is shot in the head and killed by Richie, who mistakenly believed that the store's clerk whispered "help us" to McGraw.

Kill Bill Vol. 1

In Kill Bill Vol. 1, Earl McGraw (with his son Edgar), investigates the massacre at the Two Pines Chapel, where ten people were alleged to have been killed. He soon discovers that the bride, Beatrix Kiddo, is still alive. In Kill Bill Vol. 2, McGraw does not appear; however, Michael Parks plays another character, Esteban Vihaio.

Planet Terror

During the Grindhouse segment Planet Terror, McGraw is forced to kill his wife after she turns into a zombie, while his daughter Dakota takes refuge in his house. McGraw also helps survivors gather and fight, as well as staying behind to fight off the zombie attack while the others escape. He reappears near the end, where he saves Dakota by killing her infected husband, Doctor Block.

Death Proof

McGraw, accompanied with his son Edgar, visits a hospital after Stuntman Mike's first attack. He is the only person aware of the fact that Stuntman Mike was responsible for the deaths of five girls, but Mike is cleared of all charges because the girls were intoxicated.
