Digital freedom

The term "Digital Rights" is indicative of the freedom of individuals to perform actions involving the use of a computer, any electronic device, or a communications network. The term is particularly related to a set of actions which would normally be permitted in accordance with the rights of individuals as they exist in any other aspect of life, but which have been impacted by a change to digital technology.

In 2005, the United Kingdom's Open Rights Group published a mind-map diagram documenting the range of organizations and people active in the cause of preserving digital rights. The diagram related groups, individuals, and websites to interest areas.
