Derventa (Cyrillic: Дервента) is a town and municipality in the northern part of entity Republika Srpska which is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located just northwest of Doboj, in the Posavina region.
Geography
The Derventa municipality borders with Bosanski Brod, Modriča, Doboj, Prnjavor and Srbac, as well as Croatia across the Sava river. Derventa has a suburb part of town caled Derventski Lug originally but refugees from Krajina (Bosanski Petrovac, Sanski Most,Drvar...), who have come to local authority positions named Derventski Lug just Lug. The original name is Derventski Lug, this part of town becoming urban and in a few years Derventski Lug will become city zone. It has an area of 517 km2 (200 sq mi) and includes 57 villages in addition to the actual town of Derventa.
