David A. Wheeler (born 1965) is a computer scientist.
In 2001, Wheeler posted a self-published work on his webpage,[1] where he applied metrics for costing commercial software by source lines of code to the Debian Linux distribution, and concluded (according to his own calculations) that the Debian system was worth more than a billion US Dollars.
