Columbia blue is a light blue tertiary color. The typical Columbia blue is defined by Pantone as Columbia Blue 3 (PANTONE 292).

Usage, symbolism, colloquial expressions

Fraternities and Sororities

• Some fraternities and sororities also use Columbia blue for their colors, e.g. Delta Phi, Omega Tau Zeta, Acacia, Lambda Kappa Sigma.

School Colors

• Columbia blue is used as one of the two or three color symbols for colleges, universities and High Schools such as Southern University, Spelman College, Creighton University, Columbia University, University of San Diego, Johns Hopkins University and Shawnee Mission East.

Sports

• The Tampa Bay Rays selected Columbia blue as one of its three color symbols in September 2007. The color is used in the team's logos, uniforms and official merchandise.
