William Edward "Bill" Abernathie (January 30, 1929 in Torrance, California - February 19, 2006 in Yucaipa, California) was a professional baseball pitcher in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Abernathie was signed by the Cleveland Indians in 1948, but he didn't play in the Majors until 1952, appearing in only one game. In 1953, Abernathie was traded to the Brooklyn Dodgers with money for Rocky Nelson, but he never played another game in the Majors.
