Bamble is a municipality in the county of Telemark, Norway.
Bamble was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The lading place of Stathelle was separated from Bamble in 1851, but again merged with Bamble January 1, 1964. The lading place of Langesund was also merged with Bamble the same date.
The name
The Norse form of the name was Bamblar. The meaning of the name is unknown.
Until 1918 the name was written "Bamle".

The coat-of-arms is from modern times (1986). It shows a ship's wheel.
