• - The Docklands Light Railway extension to Dagenham Dock in London, England is expected to open.
• - Revenue service on JR East's new mainline between Hachinohe and Shin-Aomori in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, is expected to begin.^[1][2]
• - The 594 km (369 mi) long high speed railway between Ankara and Izmir is expected to open.
• - The 455 km (283 mi) long high speed railway between Ankara and Sivas is expected to open.
• - The aging Hitachi trains in Melbourne are scheduled to be completely phased out.
• - Circle MRT Line would be fully operational now. With Phrase 4 and 5 being completed.
• - New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Commuter Rail would commence operations.
